Did you see the blog that was posted about Daniel's trip to Poland. Daniel Johnson went to Poland to clean the Jewish Graveyard! This was a very exciting response from a gentleman in Liverpool, England.
Hi, Daniel
I am going to Poland in September, from Liverpool England.
I did a google search against Otwock, and found your very interesting blog.
I am going to Poland to undertake family history research about my father's Jewish grandparent's who fled from Garwolin Poland, in 1906.
I am meeting a reseacher, who is taking me to the state archive in Otwock, so that we can see what family information we can trace. As well as information about my grandparents, I also hope to trace information about my grandfather's brother and sister, who remained in Garwolin & Warsaw. My cousins and I do not know if any of them managed to escape before the holocaust.
I am impressed by your group's work on the cemetery.
I shall include a visit to the cemetery, as part of my research.
If there is any chance that you could e-mail your pictures of the cemetery? I would then be able to take them with me.
I shall also hope to visit Garwolin, and attempt to trace the Jewish cemetery, if it even still exists. I know from information I have already that the cemetery has no wall, fence or gate, and has many years of vandalism, and possibly no current care. It is said to suffer weather erosion and vegetation overgrowth, as you found earlier at Otwock.
regards
